にほかならない (ni hoka naranai)

Meaning: nothing but; none other than

How to use the: Noun + にほかならない

Explain:
Used in cases where you want to make a statement that “out of that, there’s nothing else”, “that’s that”
Used to assert that “the reason or cause for something to happen is that, other than that there is no other cause”.

Example sentences:
1, この会を成功のうちに終わらせることが出来ましたのは、皆様がたのご協力のたまものにほかなりません。
Kono kai o seikō no uchi ni owara seru koto ga dekimashita no wa, minasama gata no go kyōryoku no tama mono ni hoka narimasen.
This association was able to succeed, precisely because of your valuable cooperation

2, われわれの人生とは、われわれの思考がつくり上げるものにほかならない。
wareware no jinsei to wa, wareware no shikou ga tsukuriageru mono ni hoka naranai.
Our life is what our thoughts make it.

3, 彼が私を憎むのは、私の業績をねたんでいるからに他ならない。
Kare ga watashi o nikumu no wa, watashi no gyōseki o netande irukara ni hoka naranai.
He hates me because he is jealous of my achievements.

4, 事故が発生した原因は、運転手の前方不注意にほかならない。
jiko ga hassei shita gen’in wa, untenshu no zenpou fuchuui ni hoka naranai.
The only reason why the accident occurred is because the driver didn’t pay attention.

5, この仕事にこんなにも打ち込むことができたのは、家族が支えていてくれたからにほかならない。
Kono shigoto ni kon’nanimo uchikomu koto ga dekita no wa, kazoku ga sasaete ite kuretakara ni hoka naranai.
The only reason I was able to make this job was because my family supported me.

6, この大学の学生の質がいいのは選抜がきびしいからにほかならない。
kono daigaku no gakusei no shitsu ga ii no wa senbatsu ga kibishii kara ni hoka naranai.
This university has high quality students because it has strict selection criteria.
