ないことには (nai koto niwa)

Meaning: unless you do something

How to use the:
Noun + でないことには + Verb-ないform
いadj （－い） + くないことには + Verb-ないform
なadj + でないことには + Verb-ないform

Explain:
The latter is a negative sentence

Example sentences:
1, 先生が来ないことにはクラスははじまらない。
Sensei ga konai koto niwa kurasu wa hajimaranai.
If the teacher has not arrived, then The class does not begin

2, 実際に読まないことには、この小説のおもしろさはわからないだろう。
jissai ni yomanai koto niwa, kono shousetsu no omoshirosa wa wakaranai darou.
You won’t understand why this novel is interesting unless you read it.

3, いい辞書を手にいれないことには外国語の勉強はうまくいかない。
Ī jisho o te ni irenai koto niwa gaikoku-go no benkyō wa umaku ikanai.
Without a good dictionary, learning a foreign language will not result well

4, 就職が見つからないことには、気持ちが落ち着かない。
shuushoku ga mitsukaranai koto niwa, kimochi ga ochitsukanai.
I don’t feel at ease until I find a job.

5, やってみないことには、できるかどうか分からない。
Yatte minai koto niwa, dekiru ka douka wakaranai.
If you don’t try it, you don’t know if you can do it or not.
